Transferring your existing phone number

As part of our CRM you get a virtual phone number you can use for SMS and phone calls. If you currently have a number outside of WodBoard then it's possible to transfer it across and use that instead. This article explains how to do that.

Limitations

Your existing phone number must be a virtual number (ie not tied to a real device) and must be provisioned through Twilio.

Collecting information

Before you can start you need to find some information from your existing Twilio account. Start by logging in and then on the home page copying your Account SID (highlighted below in the red box, you'll need to scroll down the page a bit to see it):

Then in the sidebar click Phone Numbers -> Manage -> Active numbers and copy your phone number

Requesting the transfer

To request the transfer you will need to submit a ticket to Twilio support with the following:

Hi,

I'd like to transfer my phone number to another account please:

Phone Number: XXX
Losing Account SID: XXX
Gaining Account SID: YYY
Time Frame: ASAP

XXX should be replaced with the phone number and Account SID you found in the previous steps. YYY should be replaced with your new Account SID at WodBoard. Our support team will confirm this for you.

Once requested Twilio will complete the transfer and we will then be able to activate your phone number at WodBoard. Note during the transfer process you may lose sms/calls for a short period whilst the transfer is completed.
