Connect your domain using another provider
Use this guide if your DNS is managed by a provider other than GoDaddy, Wix or Squarespace. We use example.com as an example; select your own domain when following the steps.
1. Request your DNS records
Email support@wodboard.com, saying “Please send us our DNS records.” Include the domain you want to connect.
We’ll send you your A, CNAME and TXT records. Wait until you receive these before making changes. Use the exact values we supply.
2. Open your DNS settings
Sign in to the account that manages your domain’s DNS. Select your domain and look for DNS Settings, Manage DNS, DNS Records or Zone Editor.
Your DNS may be managed somewhere different from the company where you purchased your domain. If you can’t find editable records, contact us.
Take a screenshot of your existing records before editing. Only change the website records described below. Keep email records and records for other services unchanged. Do not change your nameservers.
Updating these website records will replace the connection to your previous website, so make the changes when you’re ready to switch.
3. Update the A record
Find the A record for your main domain, shown as @ , example.com or a blank host. Edit it, or add one if it doesn’t exist.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Type | A |
| Name / Host | @ , or your provider’s equivalent for the main domain |
| Value / Points to | The IP address we supplied |
| TTL | Leave at the default setting |
Save it.
If several A records exist for the main domain, send us a screenshot before removing any. We’ll confirm which old website records need replacing. Leave records with other names unchanged.
4. Update the CNAME record
Edit the CNAME record named www, or add one if it doesn’t exist.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Type | CNAME |
| Name / Host | www |
| Value / Target / Points to | The CNAME target we supplied |
| TTL | Leave at the default setting |
Save it. Copy the target exactly, without adding https:// or a page address.
If another record prevents you from saving it, contact us before deleting anything.
5. Add the TXT record
Add a new record:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Type | TXT |
| Name / Host | The host we supplied, usually @ |
| Value / Content | The full TXT value we supplied |
| TTL | Leave at the default setting |
Some providers require a blank host instead of @ . Follow the guidance beside the field.
Save it. Add this as a separate record. Do not replace or delete existing TXT records, including email verification and security records.
6. Let us know
Reply to our email once all three records are saved. We’ll check the connection.
If you see AAAA, ALIAS, proxy settings or forwarding rules affecting your main domain or www , let us know. These may also need attention; ask us to check before changing them.
Allow up to 48 hours for DNS changes to update everywhere. Some visitors may still see your previous website during this time.
If anything looks different or you’re unsure, send us a screenshot and we’ll help, or arrange a call.
