Programming

One the key features within WodBoard is the ability to program workouts directly into the system for athlete tracking, performance analysis, and class management. If you're new to WodBoard, here's a quick guide to help you get started with programming input.

Getting Started with Programming Input

  1. Access the Programming Section

To begin, log in to your WodBoard admin dashboard. From the main menu, navigate to the “Programming” section. Click 'New Program' to get started.

  1. Choose a Class or Create One

WodBoard allows you to assign your programming to different classes. Select an existing class or create a new one in your Timetable and the desired date.

  1. Input Your Workout

Click on 'Add Component' and select one or more of the following:

  • Warmup: General instruction for athletes and coaches for warmup
  • Strength: Record sets, reps, and percentages that attach to a movement* When movement scores are logged by the member, they will generate a graph when next programmed of the history of lifts and recommend a weight if a % is input based on their heaviest lift recorded.

If you are using the tempo feature, there are 4 numbers to enter - all numbers are seconds.

    • First number = eccentric/down phase
    • Second number = isometric/hold/pause
    • Third number = concentric/up phase, unless marked 'X' then = explode up
    • Forth number = time at the top/reset of movement
  • WOD: Add custom AMRAPs, or For Time workouts with detailed instructions. You can also select 'named' and search for a saved workout from our bank of benchmark workouts*
  • EMOM: Include any additional work that complements your program in an 'every min on the min' format.

*You can add your own Components, Movements and Saved Workouts in Programming under the tabs along the top. This will also give you the option to add a video. Head to Settings -> Programming -> Videos to turn on.

4. Add Notes and Scaling Options

To enhance the athlete experience, include coach notes (viewable only by coaches) and intended stimulus and/or scaling options for the athlete under the programming notes (viewable by all). This helps athletes of all levels follow the workout and understand the goal.

5. Publish and Review

Once your programming is complete, save it. Athletes will be able to view the workout on their WodBoard app under the Dumbbell icon in the app or 'programming' on the desktop when the program is set to release.

Personal Training Programming

If you have private clients that you or your coaches program for, you can use WodBoard to do so. Input is exactly the same as class programming and you can assign as many individuals to the same program as you wish. Once the program has been assigned, the client will see this in their program drop-down list as 'personal programming'. The coach can log scores from the admin side -> programming -> private program or the client can from their end as detailed in the next section.

Inputting Scores

Tracking training history and inputting scores into the WodBoards app is essential for maximizing progress and performance. By consistently logging workouts, athletes can monitor improvements over time, identify areas for growth, and stay motivated by seeing measurable results. This is also a great retention tool.

After your member has attended a class, they will be prompted in the app to input their score as pictured above. They can also click on the Dumbbell icon to access the program -> select class -> view whiteboard and click to log score as pictured below.

Programming Display in Gym

Here is an article on how to set up programming display in your gym on a public screen. From this screen you can sign athletes into classes, input their scores for the session and view the whiteboard.

Programming Settings

The setting options for programming allows the gym to customize how workouts are shared, when they are released and allows you to customise the whiteboard logging options. Additionally, programs can be made private, ensuring only authorized users have access. Head to Settings -> Programming to get started.

Group Class Options

Select who can view your programming and those that have access to the whiteboard to record scores. The Release schedule 'in a weekly batch' is a very popular option with gyms to release programming the same day and time each week. If you want to hide the program until after they have attended, select 'after customer attends class' option.

Restrictions

This is where you can set up programming to be made private. This is class based and linked to plans/passes.

Example: Only the Gold membership plans can have access to programming of the Accessory Class.

3rd Party Programming

If you are interested in connecting a 3rd party program, head to Settings -> Marketplace to see what program partners are available through WodBoard. You can subscribe from this page and will receive an email to confirm your subscription. How to set up.
